Although the construction of our new Birthplace has been an enormous project, the idea behind it was simple: to provide the perfect environment for families to share one of life's most amazing experiences. Childbirth is so much more than a woman being admitted to a hospital. It is nature performing her most wondrous miracle. It is the beginning of new life; the creation of a new family.
The Family was our driving force throughout all of the design process for the new Birthplace. We believe we have created a world-class birthing center that truly reflects our commitment to family centered care, while celebrating and supporting the birth of a child.
Our new Birthplace is getting the attention of nurses, doctors and architects nationwide. It truly is one of a kind. Our facility is one of the largest and most advanced birthing centers in the world. Fortunately for you and your family, The Birthplace is right here in our community.
Highlights
- Our 52-suite family birthing center allows moms to stay in one room for their entire stay, from delivery to checkout.
- Each suite has a full-size sofa bed, refrigerator, Internet access, TV, VCR/DVD/CD player, whirlpool bathtub.
- Spacious hallways, skylights, and clearstories welcome nature inside. Reflecting pools, flowing water, trees, plants, and restful, soothing art and sculpture create an environment celebrating families and community.
- We've created family spaces including a media room, dining room, and children's play room.
- Parents and their family have access to our Resource Center, which includes a health education library with Internet access, children's library, consultation room, and classroom.
- We've included comprehensive, integrated electronic security for newborn, patient, family and provider safety.
