Getting Test Results
If your provider has ordered routine lab tests, x-rays, or procedures, please give our office staff seven days to call you with the results before calling the office. This is the minimum time required to get the results back and to allow the providers time to review the results and document a treatment plan. If you have not heard from us in seven days, then you can call the triage department and leave a message inquiring about the status of your tests. If you had cultures or other special tests and procedures performed, it may take up to 10 working days before we have the results. If we are unable to reach you by telephone after three attempts, we will mail you a letter that indicates the status of your tests.

A full service on-site laboratory allows us to provide you with quick and convenient service. We offer a wide spectrum of lab testing including cholesterol profiles, blood sugar monitoring and hormone level assays. Tests not available on-site are sent to a larger reference lab. In certain circumstances, some managed care plans require that all lab testing be performed at a reference lab.

Infertility Services
Ashley Women’s Center offers infertility counseling, fertility drug treatments, and intrauterine insemination procedures to assist couples who desire to have children. If these options are unsuccessful or in-vitro fertilization is required, then we can refer the couple to reproductive endocrinology specialists in the area. Ashley Women's Center is pleased to be in partnership with the REACH center (Reproductive Endocrinology Associates of Charlotte) as a satellite office for lab testing and ultrasounds for patients involved in the IVF process. This partnership provides a convenient location for patients living in Gaston County and the surrounding areas who may have difficulty traveling to Charlotte on a daily basis.

Bone Density Testing
Twenty-five million Americans—mostly women—are affected by osteoporosis. Half of women over the age of 50 have an osteoporosis-related fracture. At Ashley Women’s Center we have the technology to detect osteoporosis and vertebral fractures with the use of our DEXA instrument and the Intervertebral Assessment (IVA) scan. A woman’s risk of a hip fracture is equal to her combined risk of developing breast, uterine, or ovarian cancer. If you are over the age of 65 you should have a bone density scan every two years.

Ultrasound
Ashley Women’s Center maintains a staff of registered ultrasound technologists who assist the healthcare providers in the diagnosis and treatment of various obstetrical and gynecological problems. Our office is accredited by the American Institute for Ultrasound Medicine (AIUM) which requires quality standards and ongoing education in the area of ultrasound medicine. Ultrasound technology is useful not only for monitoring the status and progress of fetal development, but also in identifying cysts, masses, or other abnormalities. We also have 3D and 4D image capability with our instrument.
